General Information

This two-day summit is a collaborative effort of the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges, the Association of Community and Continuing Education, the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office, the California Community Colleges Success Network, and the Career Ladders Project.

Participants will learn the basics, challenges, and common practices of implementing or expanding a college's noncredit curriculum. General sessions will highlight the history of noncredit and its future direction in light of current legislation. During team time, colleges will have the opportunity to discuss an optimal organizational structure appropriate for their individual cultures. Breakout sessions will center around five strand themes:

  • Noncredit Basics
  • Program Development
  • Noncredit Challenges
  • Instructional and Student Support Services
  • Developing and sustaining a Noncredit Culture

Workshop Schedule/Registration/Cost

Registration is required through Eventbrite. There is a $75.00 per person registration fee for attending. Registration includes continental breakfast and lunch on day one and full breakfast and lunch on day two. Participants are responsible for travel and any parking costs.

Who Should Attend?

Each college is encouraged to send representatives from instruction, student services, and administration. Suggested team members include credit and noncredit basic skills and CTE faculty; counselors; curriculum chairs; representatives from admissions and records; coordinators for basic skills, student equity, student success and support, Adult Education and Strong Workforce programs.
